2ND MAGAZINE ANAYLSIS

Paramore - Brand New eyes

On this magazine advert you can see that they have a release date, the album cover is on the magazine advert, there is text saying 'Your favourite band is back with brand new eyes'. The name of the band and the album, there is the record label, the photograph in the middle is of the ban and there is a text saying text ignorance to 57677 to get ignorance as your ring tone, this shows that they are up to date with new technology.

Iconography (signs)

The main icon is the image of the band members this connotes importance and power. The lead singer on the right grabs your attention straight away as she looks bigger to the rest of the band, this creates a personal and intimate feel, whereas the icons surrounding that image does the opposite. In the background of the image you see a piano, this shows that this album is not like there usual albums as it seems more open and exposed, the butterfly shows that as it symbolises elegance and delicacy. The main thing that this poster reminds me of is a scrap book, which everybody has had and everybody loves, this creates a personal feel.

Colour

The light wood colours shows a softer side to this band whereas the darker colour which they are wearing in the photograph create intense emotion. The bright yellow colour of the butterfly displays happiness and joy.

Typography (font)

There are two different fonts used, the first ''paramore' is large and curvy which connotes warm and gentle qualities. The second is used for all of the other text on this poster, it is all in CAPITALS which usually suggests confidence, but as it is light not bold is creates a sense of modesty among the poster.

Composition
With all of the images and writing on this poster/magazine advert overlapping and looking as if they are stuck on with sellotape creates a positive and personal feel, it also links everything together and creates a friendly atmosphere. Also the artists name is positioned higher then any other text which suggests that it has the most importance.

Pose and expression

The lead singer is in a very domineering pose, which shows that she is the main person in the band, this directly addresses the audience as she is actively asks the audience for attention. The open bodied poses from all of the band members implies that they are cool and confident, with Hayley Williams being near to the centre of the poster and much larger than anything else that is on the poster provides her with power and status.
